First and foremost, The Palmas Academy provides a world-class education to all its students, from preschool through 12th grade. But the academy also recognizes that a well-rounded education goes beyond math and reading. Learning at The Palmas Academy is extended beyond the classroom. Our students have the opportunity to develop their leadership, service and character skills through a variety of extracurricular activities that our school offers.
Our students have the chance to try everything from sports, liberal arts, and community service. The following are examples of the different student organizations, clubs and sports that our school sponsors.
The TPA School Library’s mission is to integrate its diverse collection with the curriculum, fulfilling the research, teaching, and learning needs of our school.
The School Library encourages teachers and students to utilize all of the available resources. Our PK-12 collection consists of books in the languages of English, Spanish, and French. The collection is divided into various sections: reference, fiction and non-fiction, specialized non-fiction collections, Puerto Rico, biographies, classics, as well as magazines, and newspapers.
TPA offers their students an online access resource known as “Databases” which allow students to easily access reliable information for their assignments. There is also a collaborative agreement with the Sistema Universitario Ana G. Méndez that offers accessibility to the TPA Digital Library link that provides various trustworthy web links as well as other databases offered.
The Learning Center is committed to provide excellent educational services that increase the academic and emotional success of our students. Each student will remain integrated with his/her peers in the regular classroom except for the remedial period in which the student comes to the center for additional support. Trained and licensed teachers will provide individual or small group instruction. The TLC works hand in hand with the teachers to ensure coordinated efforts toward the best interest of the students.
